Hilton Hotels Corporation announced today that Alexander Mirza has been named to the newly-created position of senior vice president of corporate development. Benefiting his significant hospitality industry expertise in both the corporate and consulting environments, he will be working company-wide on cool product development and partnerships, including food and beverage offerings, health clubs and spas, amongst others. Mirza is based at the Hilton Hotels Corporation World Headquarters in Beverly Hills and reports right to Matthew J. Hart, president and chief operating officer.

Prior to joining Hilton, Mirza was actually a senior executive in the travel and transportation practice at Accenture. Prior to Accenture, Mirza was head of strategic planning at Starwood Hotels and Resorts Worldwide, where he was responsible for brand positioning, development planning and business innovation. Mirza started his career at First Financial, Inc. and opened the very first U.S. office servicing corporate high net-worth clients. His consulting background includes a long period of project management experience with Deloitte/Braxton Associates within the parts of value-based management, growth strategy and globalization.

Mirza was subsequently a senior principal at Strategos, an innovation consultancy where he worked with Cachet within the luxury hospitality, travel, consumer and asset management industries in the parts of customer strategy, cool product development and service innovation. Mirza holds an MBA from Harvard Business School, using a focus on brand marketing and corporate strategy. He also holds an M.A. in Economics along with a B.A. Honors from Queen’s University in Kingston, Canada.
